Stochelo Rosenberg is the solo guitarist of the Rosenberg trio.
The Rosenberg cousins played together quite some time before the name Rosenberg Trio officially is being used.
June 17th, 1989 may be considered as the starting date of the trio; The cousins Stochelo Rosenberg and Nous′che Rosenberg travelled to the Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival in France. They appeared unannounced at the festival.
On October 6th and November 2nd 1989 Stochelo, Nous′che and Nonnie, the third cousin, recorded their debut album Seresta.
In 1991, after their appearance at the Jazz Festival of Montreal they became well known all over the world.
Their most recent cd, Tribute to Stéphane Grappelli, with violinist Tim Kliphuis, was released in 2008.
